Task 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Task 2 - Essay Example One of which could be the rampant issue of deceptive advertising where people nowadays are being shown half truths reflected in any kind of advertisement, from print, radio, to television. Consumer protection laws are indeed very important to have because of the fact that when it comes to any kind of commercial dealings, we would realize that private or publicly owned companies would have greater knowledge about their products or services offered, thus, gaining them a stronger bargaining power while individual consumers would just have to take that risk to spend money over something that they hope would be worth it and at the same time beneficial for a specific need. That is why regulators have mandated that to be able to achieve total transparency between the two parties involved, having protection laws starting from the formation of oneââ¬â¢s product by conducting cost-benefit studies to its marketing strategies, whatever it would cost. Applying this knowledge to the situation presented in the film ââ¬Å"Class Actionâ⬠, there really are a lot of ethical and legal issues that would surround it. To give you an idea of what the movie centered on, it was actually about a lawsuit concerning the damages caused by a faulty automobile that caused death and at the same time a permanent damage to other peopleââ¬â¢s lives as well (Class Action, 1991). Relating this situation to the facts stated in ââ¬Å"Relationship with Consumersâ⬠chapter 8, one would clearly see the need to be able to consider doing a cost-benefit analysis on any kind of product one is about to sell to consumers even if it means that one would have to spend more than the predicted damage cost by an unsure product. Though it is legal for companies to not pursue the changes reflected in any kind of cost benefit study on a certain product if the cost of perhaps using a certain kind of

DiSC Personality Sssessment Research Proposal Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
DiSC Personality Sssessment - Research Proposal Example How important is it that a persons' DISC Profile match up with the perceived needs of a particular job I wish to address this problem specifically within the context of a teacher's perception of a secondary principal in his or her role of leading teachers through the change process. This could serve as a useful tool in improving the performance of a secondary principal or even help in defining the actual expectations for a particular position. From this basic research, many more meaningful studies could come about. The problem is that we wish to understand what teachers need from the secondary principal in terms of DISC traits and if these perceived needs have the potential to be fulfilled within the actual relationship. We could discover if it is in some way helpful to use the DISC Profile in identifying future candidates and delineate which particular qualities in the candidate make them most appropriate. The study could be used as an aide to modify the performance of an existing principal by identifying key areas for improvement. The purpose of the study is to determine if there is any correlation between a teacher's perspective of DISC Profile personality traits of an ideal secondary principal and the actual results of DISC analysis of a secondary principal... One provocative theory is that the teachers know best about which personality traits a principal must possess in order to achieve success in leading them through the change process. In an ideal situation, these expectations would be fully realized during the change and correlate closely with the actual DISC assessment of a successful principal. This is the most tempting possibility because it is the simplest and most straightforward. It lends credence to the idea that there is a high degree of correlation between expectations and outcome. When the project is moving along according to plan, then it is an excellent indicator that all is well. Further investigation is required only when the performance is unsatisfactory. The DISC analysis is a useful tool because it is geared towards self-improvement and personal growth. In this study, discrepancies between actual and perceived DISC traits could be revealing in such a way that would allow a secondary principal to achieve his or her full potential. If from a teacher's perspective a secondary principal was lacking in some critical personality trait and this conflicted with his or her DISC Profile, then that might indicate the capacity and need for change. The DISC Profile could act as a common ground between all of the individuals involved in the process and provide direction for increasing the effectiveness of the project as a whole. The methodology of this research study would involve the distribution, collection, and analysis of a DISC type personality trait inventory sent to teachers and comparison of these inventories to an actual DISC Profile completed by the secondary principal. As a model for the study, one local high school would be selected to participate based on interest and the ability to

Use academic literture and to apply theory in examining a chosen Essay
Use academic literture and to apply theory in examining a chosen ethical or social marketing issue - Essay Example Therefore, marketing managers have the responsibility of ensuring that they reduce advertisements that encourage underage drinking (Mohan, 2009, pg 27). This can be done by creating public awareness of the dangers of alcohol consumption. They should set out well-coordinated efforts aimed at reducing underage drinking by fostering mature and responsible drinking habits to adults Panda (2010) defines advertisement a mass communication medium; thus, require managers to exercise social responsibility. The marketing managers are required to provide correct information about the products and services that they promote (Andreasen, 2011, pg29). This is critical in giving consumer adequate information to make correct choices. Understanding the responsibility towards the public is critical since it has a positive and negative consequences. Imperatively, the consumersââ¬â¢ protection groups and government provide criticism on advertisements. In many cases, they base their arguments on companys manipulative and deceptive reasons (Panda, 2010,pg37). Many consumers focus their attention on the environmental and social effect of advertisements. Other concerned with the commercial clutter, offensiveness, stereotypes, and value system. For instances, labels designed for alcoholic beverages in retail places have pictures of an older person and not children to avoid allur ing the youth and children. Marketing managers have the responsibility of ensuring that their advertisements meet the ethical norms. In essence, they need to ensure that the messages do not harm the political, social, and morals standards in the society (Lamb, 2011, pg8). Ethical advertisements are those that have limits on decency, does not lie, and donââ¬â¢t make false claims. It can be observed that many advertisements are exaggerative. South Delaware Coors Case Study Essay Example for Free
South Delaware Coors Case Study Essay The major issues that Larry Brownlow is being a new owner of a business and operating it efficiently. Secondly theres a core element of readily available cash flow in question. Larry can only spend $15k for the feasibility study assessment. Furthermore Larry has a $500k trust fund established for him in inherited from a deceased relative this trust fund also enables his immediate family to receive an annual income of $40k. The main problems that Larry Brownlow is deciding on is the question of taking an added risk by investing in the pursuit of distributing the Coors product or not invest at all. (Marketing Management, 2007 pg 250) I think the most convenient course of action that Larry Brownlow should take is follow suit with the information given in study (B). The information in study B suggests that Larry should start up a distribution hub in Kent and Sussex County. (Marketing Management, 2007 pg 252) This would help Larry test the waters before distributing more regionally than eventually nationally. This opportunity will help Larry properly determine his target market for his product through different sets of environment. (Marketing Management, 2007 pg 9) In the simplest form here are Larry few alternative options. First Larry can play the numbers game and circumspectly watch the current marketing potential for his particular product also by simulating and forecasting data to increase his chance of being more profitable. Secondly Larry can easily find other channels to make his business profitable by outsourcing his distribution to third party entities. This would ensure profitability but less on the return. Lastly Larry can convey moxie by taking a risk and pursue a secure independent distribution and focus on creating a profitable business. I would choose the last alternative simply because Larry has been approved a line of $400k and another $400k through other sources might give to his business. In any new business there is a rocky start the immediate influx of income may delay some of his operation. There is also assurance in the fact that Larry will receive a substantial amount of money through the trust fund receiving an additional $500k this would help fill any financial voids in the ongoing of his new business. The main takeaway that Larry can follow is focusing on new available markets not the product itself. (Marketing Management, 2007 pg 9) Source Peter, J. P., Donnelly, J. H., Jr. (2007).
